About Awana
|
|
Awana is an
international, nondenominational, Bible-centered youth organization providing
weekday clubs and programs for three-year olds through high-schoolers. The
acronym Awana comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed
(2 Tim. 2:15).
Children and youth have
fun playing age-appropriate games, memorizing Bible verses in an organized,
topical system, and participating in large-group Bible
teaching.
Awana Clubs International
supplies needed leadership training through regional Awana missionaries and
provides support materials for churches, which staff and administrate Awana
programs. Awana leaders are committed believers who volunteer time to minister
in a local church Awana Club.
At Pine Mountain
Christian Community Church, Awana for 3 year olds - 6th grade runs from March
through October at PMCCC is on Tuesdays, 6:00pm - 7:45pm. Trek 24/7 for grades
7 & 8 and Journey 24/7 for grades 9-12 meet on Wednesdays at 5:30pm during
the school year. |

Cubbies Cubbies This is a two-year preschool
program, which requires parental participation. Designed for three- and
four-year-old preschoolers, Cubbies includes a cute character named Cubbie
Bear, a blue vest with accompanying awards for "Cubbies" to wear, and a zoo
motif. Cubbie Bear encourages children as they achieve in handbooks. Handbooks
provide Bible memorization curriculum and stimulating activities specifically
for preschoolers. Geared to encourage parental support, the Hopper Handbook and
Jumper Handbook teach basic Bible truths along with popular preschool concepts
of colors, shapes, numbers, and letters.
Sparks Designed for kindergartners as well as first-
and second-graders. Sparks includes a fun firefly character named Sparky, a red
vest with accompanying awards for "Sparkies" to wear, and a nature motif. The
three Sparks handbooks and ranks are Skipper, Hiker, and Climber. Sparky
firefly encourages and motivates children through handbook achievements.
Handbooks provide Bible memorization curriculum and other Bible-centered
activities.
Truth and Training (T & T) T&T is
for third - sixth grade boys and girls. T&T clubbers learn about Jesus,
God, and the Bible. The natural energy, enthusiasm, and excitement of the
elementary age students are channeled into memorizing and understanding God's
word. Using the Ultimate Adventure Handbooks, clubbers receive seals on a badge
as they complete sections. T&T clubbers and leaders wear badges on green
shirts and qualify for book completion awards that can continue through their
7-12 grade clubs. 24-7 Ministries Awana youth ministry features the Trek program for 7th and 8th
graders and the Journey program for high - school students. 24-7 ministries
bring the truth of scripture face-to-face with students' needs and questions
... at the time they need it most! The good news of the gospel and its
relevance to daily life is always the main focus of 24-7 ministries programs.
