Pastor’s Update
Dear friend of Pine Mountain Christian Community Church,
The Bible is an accurate record of real people who give us both good examples and bad examples. We should look for good examples to follow, and learn to avoid bad examples. Many people consider Jezebel the most wicked woman in the Bible. She was both a wife and a mother. And her bad examples should give us plenty of things to learn and avoid. I think every person could look at Jezebel and be glad they didn’t have a mother like her. And I think every mother will be able to look at Jezebel and know they did better than her. So this Sunday, May 12th, we will take a look at Jezebel, and learn some great lessons about God, life, motherhood, and the disaster that follows those who reject the true and living God.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THESE COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:
* This Sunday is communion Sunday, and we will contemplate the suffering and sacrifice that Jesus made to set us free from sin and death. I hope you will join us as we do what Jesus has told us to do: remember Him and His love for us. We will also be taking an additional offering at the end of the service to help people in our church family and community who are in need.
* This Sunday us Mother’s Day! This will be a special time to thank God for the mothers in our lives. They may not be perfect, but we can honor them for carrying and birthing us, and pray God’s blessings upon them. AND: there will be a rose for every mother at the service!
* There will be a New Members Information meeting on Sunday, May 19th at 12 noon. We’ll have lunch together in the Activities Center (no cost), share the importance of living in a covenant relationship with other believers, and answer your questions.
* If you are a church member, please plan to attend our Annual Members Meeting on June 2nd at 12 noon in the sanctuary after church. Come hear what God has done, what God is doing, and how He is leading us into the future!
* I’m excited to report that the Lord brought in $1,947 at the church garage sale! This will be a big help in making repairs and improvements on the Activities Center. A big “Thank You!” to all of you who participated.
